Research Seminar on Plastic Pollution held at CUET
A research seminar was held today on November 13 (Sunday) at Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology- CUET titled ‘Building sustainable capacity to reduce irreparable plastic pollution’ (Writing High Impact Journal Papers and Research on MXene-based Advanced Nanomaterials).
Honorable Vice Chancellor of CUET Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam was the chief guest in the seminar held at the seminar room of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The Dean and Registrar (Additional Duty) of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir was present as the special guest at the seminar.
Distinguished Professor of Sunway University of Malaysia Dr. Saidur Rahman presented the keynote article in the seminar.
The seminar was presided over by the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman. The program was conducted by Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Md. Mamunur Rashid.
While speaking as the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, “The main task of a university is to undergo research and creation of new knowledge. It is possible to make students research oriented by organizing various research seminars and symposiums. There is no substitute for research in universities to meet the global challenges of the 4th industrial revolution. Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology has been ranked between 401-450 in Asia and 92nd in South Asia in QS University Ranking-2023 published recently by USA. This is undoubtedly a happy news as well as a hopeful message for our teachers and students. On behalf of the university administration, we are making constant efforts to keep the teachers and students research-oriented.”
